Current (up to the last month Case Reports were submitted to the State) and past years statistics of total AIDS and HIV cases for the State and Solano County can be accessed at:
California Department of Public Health - HIV/AIDS Monthly Statistics
For the most current total-case HIV/AIDS statistics for Solano County click on the current year HIV/AIDS STATISTICS box and then click on the most current month listed. The following four pages show statewide demographics and incident maps by county. Page 6 shows the NAME-BASED HIV CASES COMPARED TO FINAL CODE-BASED TOTAL CUMULATIVE as of the most current month.
If you are seeking demographics (race, gender, risk factors for transmission, etc) for Solano County you must fill out the Request for HIV/AIDS Summary Data Form. Be sure to fully complete the form, sign it at the bottom and fax it to the number at the upper left of the form.
The State will only release statistics they deem will not compromise confidentiality (including statistics by zip code) but take into account who you are and why you are requesting these statistics (writing a grant, for example).
You may instead fax the fully completed and signed form to the Surveillance Coordinator, Ted Selby at 421-6618 (telephone 707-784-8608). In rare circumstances, the Solano Public Health Officer may release Solano-specific statistics that the State will not. Please allow at least fifteen business days for your request to be processed.
