Following are some web sites of interest with information on the Care & Treatment of HIV and AIDS. We provide a short synopsis of site content and who created and/or sponsors the site. We provide these links as an introduction to your search for information on the Web. Inclusion here does not indicate an endorsement of any site.
Please note that many sites you will find here (and by a search engine: try searching for "HIV treatment" or "AIDS treatment" for instance) are sponsored by drug companies. This sponsorship does not mean the information is necessarily prejudiced in the companies' favor, but is a factor you should be aware of. Some people believe some governmental sites may be slow to catch up with the ever-evolving advances in HIV/AIDS treatment. Even non-profit sites may be motivated by a certain philosophy.

AIDSmeds.com is dedicated to providing people living with HIV the necessary information they need to make empowered treatment decisions. The site accepts paid advertising from drug companies. You can sign up for various newsletters, read POZ magazine, or participate in various forums. This site was started by people living with HIV/AIDS.

AIDS InfoNet - www.aidsinfonet.com
AIDS InfoNet is a project of the New Mexico AIDS Education and Training Center in the Infectious Diseases Division of the University of The New Mexico School of Medicine. What was originally for the residents of New Mexico is now internationally known for its frequently updated FACT SHEETS written in non-technical English and Spanish. These FACT SHEETS include both conventional and alternative / complementary therapies for HIV/AIDS.

PROJECT INFORM - www.projectinform.com
PROJECT INFORM has been around since the beginning of the epidemic with its very useful HOTLINE staffed by supervised volunteers. PI has the latest information on treatment guidelines, treatment options and fact sheets on the various medications.
There is a vast array of information for everyone from the person just diagnosed with HIV to those with advanced AIDS. All the info is downloadable.

THE BODY is sponsored by just about every drug company we have heard of, thebody.com describes itself as "the complete HIV/AIDS Resource" and "your starting point for finding just about anything you need to know about HIV." The site is extensive and aside from the interesting ASK THE EXPERTS relies on an extensive list of links to organizations, articles, and current news on the various subjects related to HIV.
AIDS.GOV - www.aids.gov
AIDS.GOV bills itself as THE GATEWAY TO ALL FEDERAL SITES and is the federally sponsored site that covers just about every subject related to HIV/AIDS and you will find a wealth of mainstream information.
UCSF'S HIV "insite" - hivinsite.ucsf.edu
UCSF'S HIV "insite" is a product of the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). This site can get way too technical for most of us, but the box in the lower left hand corner FOR PATIENTS AND THE PUBLIC can guide you to a great deal of accessible information on care & treatment issues. And when you are ready to get more technical this is a very complete site.
UCDHHS SITE - www.aidsinfo.nih.gov
UCDHHS SITE is a US Department of Health and Human Services project that includes treatment guidelines as well as information on clinical trials, drugs, vaccines and other topics and tools related to HIV/AIDS.
